Blue Monday is about doing things that make people happy on one day of the year.
In 2009, a whole range of activities took place including showing the film Amelie and hosting a host of feel-good activities (from DJs, gnome-painting, kindness tombola, games and badge-making in the foyer) in Canterbury and film screenings in Newcastle to projections and stories in Lancaster.
This year it promises to be even bigger and better. Taking place on the 25th January 2010, creative activities and acts of kindness will take place nationally and shared through a new website featuring pictures, stories and videos.
A whole range of individuals and organisations are planning a host of small things to make life a bit better (from arts activities and free cups of tea to baking a cake for work colleagues and taking time to saying hello to neighbours).
